Taiwan leader Lai Ching-te's recent speech on October 10th reeked of "Taiwan independence" and the sinister intention of severing the historical bond between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. His continuous assertion that "the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China are not subordinate to each other", his "Taiwan independence" fallacy, and his reiteration of a separatist position have been bombarded by various parties for fanning up hostility across the Strait and seriously sabotaging cross-Strait peace and stability.

10月10日，賴清德在臺(tái)北發(fā)表所謂“雙十”講話。這份講話充斥“獨(dú)味”與“毒味”，蓄意割裂兩岸歷史聯(lián)結(jié)，繼續(xù)鼓吹“互不隸屬”的“新兩國(guó)論”，編造“臺(tái)獨(dú)”謬論，宣揚(yáng)分裂主張，煽動(dòng)兩岸敵意對(duì)抗，嚴(yán)重破壞臺(tái)海和平穩(wěn)定，遭到各方強(qiáng)烈批評(píng)。

On October 14th, the Chinese PLA Eastern Theater Command organized its troops of army, navy, air force and rocket force to conduct the "Joint Sword-2024B" exercise in the Taiwan Strait and the north, south and east of Taiwan Island – a powerful deterrent to the separatist activities in Taiwan and a legitimate and necessary action to safeguard national sovereignty and unity.

10月14日，中國(guó)人民解放軍東部戰(zhàn)區(qū)組織戰(zhàn)區(qū)陸軍、海軍、空軍、火箭軍等兵力，位臺(tái)灣海峽、臺(tái)島北部、臺(tái)島南部、臺(tái)島以東，開展“聯(lián)合利劍－2024B”演習(xí)。這是對(duì)“臺(tái)獨(dú)”分裂勢(shì)力謀“獨(dú)”行徑的強(qiáng)力震懾，是捍衛(wèi)國(guó)家主權(quán)、維護(hù)國(guó)家統(tǒng)一的正當(dāng)必要行動(dòng)。

China's reunification is a historical trend and the right way forward. Since the Opium War of 1840, generations of Chinese people has put up heroic struggles to fight against foreign aggression, sought national liberation and unity. Mr. Sun Yat-sen, who was the first to call for "revitalizing China", led the successful Revolution of 1911 and blazed a path for achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Taiwan has been an inalienable part of China since ancient times. It was invaded and occupied by foreign aggressors in modern times and the Taiwan people suffered immensely during that period. When the Chinese people gained the great victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1945, Taiwan was liberated from imperialists. The island is an integral part of Chinese territory and the Taiwan compatriots are members of the big Chinese family. The government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole China, including Taiwan. The PRC is the great motherland for all Chinese nationals, and the one-China principle is a universal consensus acknowledged by the international community.

統(tǒng)一是歷史大勢(shì)，是正道。1840年鴉片戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)之后，為戰(zhàn)勝外來侵略、爭(zhēng)取民族解放、實(shí)現(xiàn)國(guó)家統(tǒng)一，中華兒女前赴后繼，進(jìn)行了可歌可泣的斗爭(zhēng)。孫中山先生率先發(fā)出“振興中華”的吶喊，領(lǐng)導(dǎo)辛亥革命取得成功，為實(shí)現(xiàn)中華民族偉大復(fù)興探索道路。臺(tái)灣自古就是中國(guó)的神圣領(lǐng)土，近代曾被外國(guó)侵略勢(shì)力侵占，臺(tái)灣民眾深受其苦。1945年，中國(guó)人民取得抗日戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的偉大勝利，臺(tái)灣隨之光復(fù)。臺(tái)灣始終是中國(guó)領(lǐng)土的一部分，臺(tái)灣同胞始終是中華民族的一分子，中華人民共和國(guó)政府始終是代表包括臺(tái)灣在內(nèi)的全中國(guó)的唯一合法政府，中國(guó)始終是全體中華兒女的偉大祖國(guó)，堅(jiān)持一個(gè)中國(guó)原則始終是國(guó)際社會(huì)的普遍共識(shí)。

Turning a blind eye to the historical context of the Taiwan question and to the fact that the people living across the Taiwan Strait share the same origin, Lai Ching-te, in his so-called "Double Ten" speech, was racking his brains to patch up evidence for separation, ramming his "Taiwan independence" assertions upon the people in Taiwan, and playing the old tune of "democracy vs authoritarianism'. While singing for "democracy and freedom", what he was really doing was continuing down the road of "seeking independence by banking on foreign support and military means" and trying to tie the island onto the chariot for "Taiwan independence". Lai's fallacy once again revealed his bigoted "Taiwan independence" position and vicious intention of escalating hostility and confrontation across the Strait, which will plunge the people in Taiwan into an abyss of misery.

賴清德對(duì)臺(tái)灣問題明明白白的歷史經(jīng)緯置若罔聞，對(duì)海峽兩岸同宗同源的事實(shí)現(xiàn)狀視而不見。在所謂“雙十”講話中，他處心積慮為分裂國(guó)家拼湊依據(jù)，強(qiáng)行灌輸其“臺(tái)獨(dú)”主張，重彈“民主對(duì)抗威權(quán)”的老調(diào)，以所謂“民主自由”為幌子，繼續(xù)“倚外謀獨(dú)”“以武謀獨(dú)”，企圖將臺(tái)灣綁上“臺(tái)獨(dú)”戰(zhàn)車。賴清德新瓶裝舊酒的“臺(tái)獨(dú)”謬論，再次暴露其冥頑不化的“臺(tái)獨(dú)”立場(chǎng)和升高敵意對(duì)抗的險(xiǎn)惡用心，將給臺(tái)灣民眾帶來深重災(zāi)難。

Whoever plays with fire will get itself burnt in the end! Lai Ching-te and DPP authorities' adventures on the wrong path are bound to meet with a heavy blow and come to nothing. The "Joint Sword-2024B" exercise by Chinese PLA Eastern Theater Command once again proved that whenever the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces make a move, the PLA will respond with stronger military countermeasures, the noose around their neck will be held tighter, and the sword hanging over their head will drop lower.

玩火者必自焚！賴清德和民進(jìn)黨當(dāng)局在“臺(tái)獨(dú)”錯(cuò)誤路線上膽敢鋌而走險(xiǎn)，必遭沉重打擊，難逃覆滅的歷史鐵律。中國(guó)人民解放軍東部戰(zhàn)區(qū)開展“聯(lián)合利劍－2024B”演習(xí)再次證明，“臺(tái)獨(dú)”分裂勢(shì)力妄動(dòng)一分，解放軍的軍事反制就更進(jìn)一步，勒在“臺(tái)獨(dú)”分裂勢(shì)力脖子上的鏈條就更緊一分，懸在“臺(tái)獨(dú)”分裂勢(shì)力頭上的利劍就更近一寸。

Achieving national rejuvenation is the biggest dream of the Chinese nation in modern times. It is also a cause bearing on the future of people living on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Taiwan's future rests on national reunification, and the local people's wellbeing rests on national rejuvenation. Whatever fallacies and bizarre remarks Lai Ching-te made, they can neither change the irrefutable fact that both the mainland and Taiwan belong to one and the same China. We have the confidence and capability to achieve the full and complete reunification of the country and the rejuvenation of the nation. No one, no force can stop this overwhelming historical trend. We strive for peaceful reunification with the greatest sincerity and the utmost effort, but we will leave no leeway for "Taiwan independence" separatist activities in any form, nor will we tolerate any "pro-independence" provocations. Any illusion of or attempt at separation will be smashed resolutely.

實(shí)現(xiàn)中華民族偉大復(fù)興是近代以來中華民族最偉大的夢(mèng)想，也始終關(guān)系著兩岸同胞的前途命運(yùn)。臺(tái)灣前途在于國(guó)家統(tǒng)一，臺(tái)灣同胞福祉系于民族復(fù)興。無論賴清德拋出什么樣的“歷史悖論”“臺(tái)獨(dú)怪談”，都改變不了兩岸同屬一個(gè)中國(guó)的客觀事實(shí)。我們有信心和能力實(shí)現(xiàn)祖國(guó)完全統(tǒng)一，任何人、任何勢(shì)力都阻擋不了民族復(fù)興、國(guó)家統(tǒng)一的歷史大勢(shì)。我們?cè)敢宰畲蟮恼\(chéng)意，盡最大的努力爭(zhēng)取和平統(tǒng)一的前景，但決不為任何形式的“臺(tái)獨(dú)”分裂活動(dòng)留下任何余地，決不容忍謀“獨(dú)”挑釁，堅(jiān)決粉碎分裂圖謀，堅(jiān)決斬?cái)喾至鸦孟搿?/p>

The Chinese PLA will continue to strengthen training andcombat readiness to enhance the capabilities to fight and win, and firmly fight back against "Taiwan independence" separatist activities and foreign interference. The PLA's actions to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity will not stop until provocations for "Taiwan independence" stop once and for all.

中國(guó)人民解放軍始終強(qiáng)化練兵備戰(zhàn)，全面提升打贏能力，堅(jiān)決反制反擊“臺(tái)獨(dú)”分裂活動(dòng)和外部干涉。只要“臺(tái)獨(dú)”挑釁一日不止，解放軍捍衛(wèi)國(guó)家主權(quán)和領(lǐng)土完整的行動(dòng)就一刻不停。
