BEIJING, Oct. 8 -- Recently, 700 peacekeepers of the 10th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) were awarded the UN Peace Medal of Honor.

北京10月8日電 -- 近日，中國第十批赴南蘇丹（朱巴）維和步兵營700名維和官兵全部被授予聯(lián)合國“和平榮譽勛章”。

The Peace Medal of Honor is an important award established by the UN to recognize the outstanding contributions to the cause of peace of mankind. Since its deployment to the mission area in December last year, the 10th Chinese Peacekeeping Infantry Battalion has completed more than 150 tasks including security guard, armed patrols and contingency responses within the UNMISS command framework. It has also carried out free clinic for multiple times, and donated more than 10,000 humanitarian aid materials.

“和平榮譽勛章”是聯(lián)合國為表彰對人類和平事業(yè)做出突出貢獻者而設(shè)立的重要獎項。中國第十批維和步兵營自去年12月部署至任務(wù)區(qū)以來，在聯(lián)南蘇團指揮框架內(nèi)，高標準完成了警戒執(zhí)勤、武裝巡邏、應(yīng)急處突等授權(quán)任務(wù)150余次，并積極開展義診、慰問等人道主義援助活動，捐贈各類人道主義援助物資一萬余件（套）。
