URUMQI, Aug. 28 -- One Y-20 transport aircraft and seven J-10 aerobatic aircraft of the Bayi Aerobatic Team under the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) departed on Monday from an airport in northwest China for the First Egypt International Air Show at the invitation of the Egyptian Air Force.

烏魯木齊8月27日電  中國空軍1架運(yùn)-20、7架八一飛行表演隊(duì)殲-10表演機(jī)26日從西北某機(jī)場起飛，應(yīng)埃及空軍邀請赴埃參加首屆埃及航展。

The air show is scheduled from September 3 to 5. Xie Peng, a spokesperson for PLAAF, said that this will be the Bayi Aerobatic Team's first performance in an African country and also the farthest flight overseas to date. During the air show, the Y-20 aircraft is set to make its debut performance and static display abroad at El Alamein International Airport, according to Xie.

埃及航展將于9月3日至5日舉辦。據(jù)空軍新聞發(fā)言人謝鵬介紹，這是空軍八一飛行表演隊(duì)首次前往非洲國家進(jìn)行飛行表演，也是表演隊(duì)出國表演航程最遠(yuǎn)的一次。航展期間，運(yùn)-20將在埃及阿拉曼機(jī)場實(shí)現(xiàn)海外飛行“首秀”，并進(jìn)行靜態(tài)展示。

Military expert Wang Mingzhi noted that the flight to Egypt will span nearly 10,000 kilometers and cross multiple time zones amid rapidly changing temperatures, posing a challenge to the logistics and the pilots' flight skills and physical endurance. It will demonstrate the long-range mobility and delivery capabilities as well as the outcome of realistic combat training of the Chinese air force.

軍事專家王明志表示，此次轉(zhuǎn)場航程近萬公里，跨越時區(qū)多、氣溫變化快、保障難度大，將考驗(yàn)飛行員的飛行技術(shù)和體能耐力，體現(xiàn)中國空軍遠(yuǎn)程機(jī)動投送能力和實(shí)戰(zhàn)化訓(xùn)練水平。

It is reported that the formation is scheduled to fly over the pyramids in Egypt. Li Bin, head of the Bayi Aerobatic Team, said the pyramids are a symbol of ancient Egyptian civilization and the performance is sure to be a historical witness to the friendship between China and Egypt.
